To schedule an inspection, you may request an inspection online or call the Village of Cary Community Development Department at (847) 639-1100. Every building permit issued requires a minimum of one (1) inspection. When a permit is released, it is the permit holder's responsibility to review and schedule all the required inspections. Work cannot continue until the required inspection(s) is approved.

• A minimum of two (2) business days notice is required for inspection scheduling.
• All inspections are scheduled on a first come, first serve basis.
• Failure to call in cancellation or cancel online a scheduled inspection prior to 8:00 am on the day of the inspection will result in a re-inspection fee.

Submitting a schedule request through this online portal does not automatically schedule the inspection. The Community Development Department will review your request against other requested inspections. The Department cannot guarantee a time slot requested will be scheduled but will attempt to satisfy particular inspection requests based upon existing scheduling demands. You will receive an automated message from the Village of Cary if your inspection is added to our schedule.
