Position Summary
THE CENTER SPECIALIST IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DAILY OPERATIONS OF THE RECREATION CENTER, INCLUDING PROGRAMS, EVENTS, AND FACILITY RENTALS. THIS ROLE ENSURES A CLEAN, SAFE, AND WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT FOR ALL VISITORS WHILE DELIVERING OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE. THE CENTER SPECIALIST HELPS CREATE ENGAGING EXPERIENCES FOR PARTICIPANTS OF ALL AGES AND SUPPORTS THE SUCCESSFUL EXECUTION OF RECREATIONAL PROGRAMMING.
Position Description
PART-TIME PARKS & RECREATION CENTER SPECIALIST
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION AND DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
PROVIDE EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND RESPOND TO INQUIRIES, CONCERNS, AND FEEDBACK FROM PARTICIPANTS AND FAMILIES.
PROVIDES RESPONSIVE AND TIMELY FEEDBACK ON THE STATUS AND PROGRAM OF WORK ACTIVITIES, DEPARTMENT AND CITY GOALS TO STAFF AND THE PROGRAM MANAGER.
ENSURE THAT EMPLOYEES ARE ABIDING BY ESTABLISHED GUIDELINES, POLICIES, AND PROCEDURES.
FOLLOWS ALL ESTABLISHED SAFETY RULES AND DEPARTMENTAL POLICIES AND PROCEDURES AND CONDUCTS ORAL AND WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS WITH MINIMAL SUPERVISION.
ASSESS POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARDS AT SITES, REPORTS DAMAGED OR UNSAFE EQUIPMENT, AND TAKES RISK FACTORS.
DOCUMENTS AND REPORTS ON SAFETY AND FACILITY ISSUES AND AREAS OF CONCERN TO THE PARKS AND FACILITIES SUPERINTENDENT AND SUBMIT WORK ORDER REQUEST.
PLAN AND IMPLEMENT RECREATIONAL, EDUCATIONAL, AND CULTURAL PROGRAMS FOR YOUTH, ADULTS, SENIORS, AND FAMILIES.
DEVELOP AND MAINTAIN REGISTRATION ROSTERS, TRACK ATTENDANCE, AND ASSIST WITH PROGRAM SETUP AND BREAKDOWN.
COLLABORATE WITH INSTRUCTORS AND VOLUNTEERS TO ENSURE SMOOTH PROGRAM DELIVERY.
PROMOTE AND RECRUIT PARTICIPANTS FOR ONGOING AND SEASONAL PROGRAMMING.
ASSIST WITH COORDINATION, SETUP, STAFFING, AND BREAKDOWN OF COMMUNITY EVENTS AND DEPARTMENTAL SPECIAL EVENTS.
SERVE AS ON-SITE SUPPORT DURING EVENTS TO ENSURE SAFETY AND A POSITIVE PARTICIPANT EXPERIENCE.
MAINTAIN EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES RELATED TO SPECIAL EVENTS.
SERVE AS THE POINT OF CONTACT FOR FACILITY RENTALS, ENSURING RENTAL POLICIES AND PROCEDURES ARE FOLLOWED.
OPEN, CLOSE, AND MONITOR FACILITY USE DURING RENTALS; ADDRESS RENTER NEEDS AND ENFORCE GUIDELINES.
SUPPORT ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS INCLUDING COLLECTING PAYMENTS, ISSUING RECEIPTS, AND UPDATING RENTAL CALENDARS.
CONDUCT WALKTHROUGHS BEFORE AND AFTER RENTALS TO ASSESS CLEANLINESS AND REPORT DAMAGE IF NEEDED.
PERFORM LIGHT JANITORIAL DUTIES AND MONITOR FACILITY CLEANLINESS AND SAFETY.
ASSIST WITH CLERICAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS, INCLUDING USING RECDESK FOR REGISTRATIONS AND PAYMENTS.
MAINTAIN ACCURATE RECORDS AND ASSIST WITH INVENTORY MANAGEMENT.
PERFORM OTHER JOB-RELATED DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.
