Position Summary
Position is responsible for performing maintenance, cleaning, and operational duties at Township parks. Hours of work will be Wednesday through Sunday 2pm to 11pm (April 1st through October 31st). Regular winter schedule (November 1st through March 31st) will be Wednesday through Sunday 8am through 5pm unless changed. This position reports to Department Director although duties may be assigned by Superintendent of Parks.
Position Description
Responsibilities
•Park ranger responsibilities for operations of any Township park as assigned, including opening and or closing parks
•General park labor including field maintenance, weed whipping, mowing, custodial, and operation of small equipment
•Ball-field maintenance
•Interact regularly with park patrons
•Interact regularly with seasonal employees
•Vehicle and equipment maintenance
•Minor repairs of park equipment
•Other duties as may be required


Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience operating and maintaining outdoor equipment, such as mowers, tractors, etc.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work as a team player
• Prefer basic knowledge of construction trades (Carpentry, electric, plumbing, etc).
• Prefer small engine repair experience
• One year experience working in an outdoor setting
• Prefer previous experience in parks setting
• Must have vaild Michigan Driver Licesne. CDL preferred.
