This temporary seasonal position assists Public Works maintenance crews working to maintain and repair Village streets, parkways, storm drainage, and utility systems. Schedule is Monday- Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. This is a part-time, seasonal position with a starting rate of $18.00/hour. Applications are being accepted until May 31, 2023, with applications reviewed on an ongoing basis.

This position entails assisting maintenance crews working on street, storm drainage, and utility systems and/or equipment operation work performed to maintain and repair Village public works and water/sewer facilities.

Normal work responsibilities call for high levels of physical efforts characterized by lifting and hauling of loads exceeding fifty (50) pounds many times throughout a normal workday. Physical efforts may include: stooping, crawling, crouching, climbing and other continuous physical activity. Other forms of continuous activity include using heavy power tools, the use of which may be required in any outdoor weather conditions.

Working hours are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Successful applicants for this position must possess the knowledge equivalent of a High School diploma with major course emphasis in a vocational program, and be 18 years of age or older.

Prior experience in Public Works and/or similar work is preferred, but not required.

Applicant should possess and maintain a current and valid Class D Illinois driver's license. Applicant must be capable of passing a work related pre employment physical examination and physical proficiency test.
