Position Summary
The City of Moscow is looking for a highly motivated, positive person to join the Public Works Dept. as a Water Reclamation & Reuse Facility Operator. Position Description
Distinguishing Characteristics
Under direction of the WRRF Supervisor,

-Apprentice Operator performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled duties in the operation, maintenance, and repair of the Water Reuse and Reclamation Facility.

-Journey Operator has gained additional experience, can work independently in most areas and performs a wide range of skilled operational and maintenance duties to ensure that plant processes are operated in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures established at the Water Reclamation and Reuse Facility. Is licensed by the State of Idaho as a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Class II or higher.

-Senior Operator is more technically advanced and may serve in a lead capacity. Operates and maintains the WRRF to ensure that facility effluent, to the extent possible, is in compliance with local, state, and federal discharge limits.


Job Description
Activities include all aspects of maintenance and repair for the WRRF. This includes assisting with treating sanitary wastewater, operation/maintenance and repair of wastewater components, transporting Biosolids to local composting facility, and any other duty associated with the precise treatment of sanitary wastewater as assigned. Having a working knowledge of hand tools along with basic reading, writing, mathematical, and computer skills is highly desired.

The City of Moscow has one position to fill and is willing to hire the right person as either an Apprentice Operator, Journey Operator, or Senior Operator.

Apprentice candidates must possess or be able to obtain a Class B commercial driver’s license within one year of hire. Also for an Apprentice, having an Idaho Class I Wastewater Operator License is desirable and must obtain an Idaho Level I Wastewater Operator License within one year. Starting pay is $19.16 per hour.

A Journey Operator requires a Level II Wastewater Operator Certification. Must also possess or be able to obtain a Class B commercial driver’s license within one year of hire. Starting pay is $20.69+ per hour.

A Senior Operator will require an Idaho Level III or Level IV Wastewater Operator Certification. Must also possess or be able to obtain a valid Class B commercial driver’s license within six months of hire. Starting pay is $22.35+ per hour.
