Position Summary
To provide support for the operations of the youth soccer program. The individual in this capacity has specific duties relative to their job, in addition to, the general rules, policies, procedures, and expectations of the Department. ** Pay Rates vary on age group and length of soccer games**
Position Description
Qualifications Soccer Referee
-Have superb knowledge and understanding of all Federation International Football Association (FIFA) and Independence Township Parks and Recreation rules.
- Be respectful to the sport and its participants. Treat everyone equally.
-Ability to develop working relationships with coaches and managers.
- Be approachable.
- Ability to write evaluations at the conclusion of the season.


Responsibilites Soccer Referee
-Assist the Soccer Supervisor, where needed.
-Provide the office with all “daily” soccer information. Provide coaches with standings, correspondence, and office memos.
- Show up to site at least 20 minutes prior to first game.
- Keep updated and accurate paperwork on all Referees.
- Meet with all referees daily before and after games.
- Supervise all referees during games.
- Attend referee meetings and orientation.
- Review the emergency response and severe weather procedures.
- Attend Referee clinic and meetings.
- Help notify coaches with updated information.

**Pay rates vary depending on the age of game worked.**


Independence Fest
It is mandatory that all Parks, Recreation, and Seniors Staff works at least one 8 hour shift on the 4th of July for Independence Fest. The job duty on this day will not reflect the duties of the above position.

1.As a seasonal or part-time employee, of the Department, I agree to abide by the rules and regulations as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

2. I understand the physical demands of this position and if at any time during my employment, I am unable to perform the responsibilities as required, I will notify my supervisor immediately.

3. When employment is contingent on certain certifications, if for some reason I am unable to maintain current certificates, I will notify my employer immediately.

4. Employee staff meetings are a requirement of some positions and attendance may be mandatory.

5. Employees must wear issued uniform.

6. All keys and equipment issued must be returned prior to receipt of last check.

7. As a seasonal or part-time employee I understand:
a. My employment is limited to a specific season or activity and that there are no implied promises for returning to work for another season, activity or time period.
b. I understand that if a permanent position becomes available, I shall have no rights to that position greater than those of the general public.

8. I understand I must provide my Social Security Card and Driver’s License, or my Passport, or another approved I-9 document(s) prior to hire

9. Employment is conditional upon successful completion of a background check.
