Position Summary
To provide support for the operations of the youth and adult soccer programs. The individual in this capacity has specific duties relative to their job, in addition to, the general rules, policies, procedures, and expectations of the Department.

Although every detail of the day-to-day job may not be included in this job description, the Soccer Supervisor will be expected to perform the duties required to administer a successful program that provides a positive experience for the participants. Keep in mind; enthusiasm and communication are key!

Reports to: Recreation Specialist
Positions reporting to this Position: Soccer Referees (during games)


Qualifications
Must have a basic understanding of the game of soccer or can become familiar with the game upon hiring.
Must be at least 18 years old.


Responsibilties
• Preferred knowledge and understanding of all Federation International Football Association (FIFA) and Independence Township Parks, Recreation & Seniors rules.
• Prepare soccer fields for games (put out equipment bags, flags, etc.).
• Assist the Recreation Coordinator, where needed.
• Provide the office with all “daily” soccer reports.
• Show up to site at least 30 minutes prior to first game.
• Keep updated and accurate paperwork on all referees
• Meet with all referees daily before and after games.
• Supervise all referees during games
• Attend coach meetings.


Training
• Attend Supervisor Training Meeting and Orientation.
• May be asked to attend referee meetings.
• Evaluate and provide each referee with a written evaluation on specific areas that need improvement halfway through the season and at the end of the season.
• Obtain Concussion Training Certificate.



Communication
• Communicate with Recreation Coordinator daily.
• Be visible and “active” on site. Develop working relationship with coaches and managers. Be approachable.
• Provide Recreation Specialist with game cards and accurate payroll for yourself.
• Help notify coaches, referees, personnel of game cancellations, and any other schedule changes.
• Provide a written evaluation to the Recreation Specialist at the conclusion of the season.



Times and Dates
• Kiddy Kickers (Saturday Mornings, 8am-11am)
• Junior Kicker 6 and 7 (Monday-Thursday Evenings, 4:30pm-8:30pm)
• House (Monday-Thursday Evenings 4:30-8:30pm, Some Saturdays 10am-2pm)
• U19 (Some Saturdays, Mostly Sunday Afternoons, 9:30am-4pm)
• Women’s 30+ (Sunday Afternoons 9:30am-4pm)
